POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, National Teams oversees the administration, logistics, and operations of several components of the National Teams program for USA Lacrosse. The National Teams program includes women's and men's Senior and Under 20 (U20) teams and women's and men's Box and Sixes teams. Under the leadership of the VP, National Teams, Safety, & High Performance and the Director, National Teams & High Performance you will work closely with the SR Manager, National Teams to support eight (8) National teams, serving as the primary point of contact for the National Teams athletes, coaches, team staff, partners, and other volunteers and constituents. This crucial role will partner with internal team members and external vendors to provide daily oversight of the program, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and guaranteeing an exceptional experience for all National Team program participants.

A TYPICAL DAY LOOKS LIKE…
•    Manages and oversees logistics and operations for all National Teams, supporting the athletes, coaches, staff, partners, and volunteers.  This includes, but is not limited to, gathering and maintaining contact information, ensuring athletes, coaches, and staff complete required background checks and maintain USA Lacrosse memberships, equipment ordering and tracking, and collaborating with USA Lacrosse’s medical staff to manage collection of all required medical documentation for competitions.
•    In collaboration with the USA Lacrosse events and facilities team, manages operations, administration, and logistics for all National Team events (i.e., training weekends, tryouts, clinics, etc.).  This includes, but is not limited to, travel and transportation coordination, meal arrangements, event logistics, collaboration with the Center for Sport Science and medical advisors to establish emergency action plans, and serving as the onsite “traffic cop” to ensure events go as planned so athletes and coaches can focus on the competition/event.  
•    Serves as a member of the National Team staff for all team competitions (domestic and international).  This includes, but is not limited to, traveling and lodging with team throughout the entire competition to provide assistance as needed to ensure athletes, coaches, and staff have what they need so they can focus on competition and performance for a successful and positive experience.  
•    Serves as National Team contact for World Lacrosse events and ensures all eligibility requirements are met for athletes, coaches, and staff to participate in events and competitions.  
•    Ensures effective communication, collaboration, and processes are adhered to by all members of National Team, Safety, & High Performance team members and they are using the IT systems put in place by USA Lacrosse for effective communication (i.e., Teamworks, Teams, CRM, etc.).  This includes providing communication and being the point of contact for all athletes, coaches, staff, and families so they are aware of what to expect and what is needed for events and/or competitions.   
•    Ensures all National Team activities athletes and coaches participate in maintain good standing for participants according to NCAA and World Lacrosse standards.  This includes escalating any issues and/or concerns to the National Team management team.  
•    Liaises with National Team athletes and coaches to coordinate availability for National Team Development Program clinics, PR/marketing efforts to promote events, and partners with the marketing team for collateral, promotional campaigns, and email blasts to increase brand awareness and participation.  
•    Monitors and responds to inquiries sent to the National Team email box.  Escalates matters and/or involves others for collaboration/information as needed.    
•    Serves as a champion for USA Lacrosse’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Opportunity (DEIO) goals.  This includes implementing best practices and making recommendations for improvement in goal achievement and assisting with identification and recruitment of athletes and coaches for our National Team coaching and athlete pools.
•    Stays current on best practices of other governing bodies (GBs) and their high performance teams to set USA Lacrosse’s National Teams up for success so we can field the best teams and compete on a high level.

IS THIS YOU…
•    High school diploma or GED equivalent required.  Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management or related field preferred and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
•    2 to 4 years of experience in the field of team and/or sports management or related field.  This includes experience providing administrative and operational oversight and management.  NCAA level lacrosse or athletic team operations experience preferred.   
•    Previous lacrosse experience and/or knowledge of the sport and/or knowledge and understanding of team sports preferred.  
•    Ability to manage an operational budget.  Previous experience creating a budget preferred.  
•    Intermediate computer skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft 365 products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Knowledge of Teamworks and SalesForce a plus but must have the aptitude to learn new computer and software programs and applications.   
•    Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a number of projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data.
•    Enthusiastic go-getter with a "roll up your sleeves" and "get it done" attitude.  
•    Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal. 
•    Must have the ability to maintain a calm and composed demeanor and persona under pressure/stressful situations.  This includes the ability to work appropriately and respectfully with high profile and influential individuals in the sport.      
•    Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships. 
•    Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  
•    Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, follow up/through skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
•    Comfortable managing others and giving directions in an event setting.  
•    Ability to exercise the appropriate level of discretion and judgement with the capability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information and materials.   
•    Ability to be flexible with your work schedule, including availability to work nights and weekends based on event needs.  This will also include overnight travel for NT events.     
•    Willingness to learn about the sport of lacrosse and appreciate the need to develop, grow, and fuel the growth of the sport with diversity, equity, and inclusion in mind. 
•    Ability to align with USA Lacrosse's Mission, Vision, and Values and Strategic Plan to support our initiatives and organizational goals.   

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This position is generally expected to work Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm and will require longer hours and weekend work based on events and competition schedules.  This is a hybrid position and works from the headquarters office in Sparks, MD three (3) days a week with the flexibility to work from home two (2) days a week.  Based on event/competition schedule, additional days (in excess of 3) working in the headquarters office will be required.     

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travel may be necessary up to 20% of the time (local, regional, and international).  Travel would involve the following mode(s) of travel: car, train, or air.  Out of area and overnight travel will be expected.
