The Development Coordinator in the Office of Annual Giving (OAG) at Johns Hopkins University reports to the Director of Annual Giving & Digital Strategy.
Fast-paced and highly variable, this role is best suited for individuals with deft interpersonal skills and collaborative instincts, high adaptability and creativity, strong communicative abilities, and intellectual curiosity. The Development Coordinator will support projects and priorities that align with the institution's division-specific annual giving goals, focusing on donor, alumni, and constituent customer service. This role must balance competing priorities, and is an adept project manager.
The Office of Annual Giving is a growing team that currently consists of fifteen colleagues who provide annual giving services to the nine schools of the university, various departments of Johns Hopkins Medicine, and several centers and institutes, totaling over 35 partners. These annual giving services include developing comprehensive and integrated direct-response solicitation strategies optimal for each unit.
- Work closely with OAG colleagues on fundraising project plans, marketing strategies, and divisional goals.
- Provide scheduling assistance and calendar oversight for the Director and other members of the OAG team.
- Assist members of the OAG team in managing project deadlines and deliverables, and following up with team members on outstanding tasks.
- Assist with monitoring the success of each solicitation by using the JHAS CRM and key reporting tools including Tableau and Business Intelligence.
- Assist with the reporting of progress to each program on a monthly basis and offer suggestions to achieve goals.
- Support phonathon program by managing next day pledge cycle, customer service support, and other needs as they arise.
- Attend meetings with liaison team to discuss strategies and benchmarks for fall and spring solicitation cycles.
- Review gift reports and other data ensure conformity with organizational guidelines and make appropriate changes to support data integrity.
- Work with other members of the OAG team to provide coverage on responsibilities such as gift processing, customer service, data updates, and more.
- Partner with OAG colleagues and assist with reporting and data spreadsheet projects to devise improved planning and tracking procedures.
- Assist the Data Analytics team with managing daily suppressions and appeal codes.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
- Three years related administrative experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

- Bachelors Degree.
- Comfortable working in a complex, multi-divisional, results-oriented, fast environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines, establish priorities, set objectives, and achieve goals.
- Strong organizational skills and sound judgment around prioritizing many and sometimes competing obligations.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and respond appropriately to donor and staff inquiries and concerns.
- Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new software as needed.
- Thrive in high-energy environments that often have short deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Have the ability to work independently as well as on a team.
- Ability to provide solid customer service while understanding the boundaries around confidentiality and protected patient information.
- Strong organizational and prioritizing skills with the ability to stay calm under pressure when handling multiple tasks.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
