The Urology Department is seeking a Sr Research Data Analyst who will work under supervision of the Principal Investigator, creates, manages, analyses, and reports on research data pertaining to prostate cancer genetics and genomics. Data types include but not limited to baseline and follow-up clinical data, lab-based long-read, and traditional sequencing data. Collaborate with other computational biologists and investigators in study design, execution, and preparation of presentations and publications.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Database creation and management including data checking and cleaning, data merging, and preparation of data for analyses.
- Carries out appropriate methodologic procedures for data analysis.
- Prepares written reports of data analyses, including relevant methods, processes, input parameters, references, results, and conclusions.
- Writes methods and analysis sections for research proposals.
- Writes computer code to evaluate study designs and to accomplish the actual analyses.
- Participates in regularly scheduled meetings with study investigators and team and prepares progress reports as needed.
- Maintain appropriate systems for database associated management.
- Keep abreast of technical and academic resources and advances related to the methodology. Adaptable to changing trends and technologies and commitment to learning new methods and techniques.
- Other responsibilities including web lab experiments that may be assigned as needed.
Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Thorough understanding of computers.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language is required. Proficiency in multiple languages, including R, Python, C++, Java, MATLAB, HIVE, SQL, and PHP is desired. Familiarity with or ability to learn the use of data management tools such as SAS, Oracle Visual Analyzer, Microsoft Power BI, Cognos, Tableau.
- Knowledge of statistics and expertise in linear algebra and multivariate calculus as demonstrated by course work, published work, or examples of ongoing work.
- Knowledge in biological sciences including molecular biology as demonstrated by course work or published work.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Informatics, Computational Biology or other relevant disciplines. Typically requires PhD.
- One-year related experience. Require highly specialized advanced knowledge, education and/or training in a specialized field of study to conduct research.
- Demonstrated ability on significant graduate project or additional doctoral education may substitute for experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD Preferred.
- A thorough understanding and experience in statistics is strongly preferred.

Starting Salary Range: $54,080-$74,390-$94,710 Annually (Commensurate with experience)
