Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) supports Johns Hopkins focus on research, teaching and patient care, and its role as a national and global leader in higher education. We create and foster enduring relationships that result in advocacy and philanthropic support for Johns Hopkins University & Medicine, strengthening the institution through partnerships with donors, alumni, volunteer leaders, faculty, students, staff, and patients.
This individual will provide high-level administrative to the Chief Engagement Officer for 555 Pennsylvania Avenue and the Special Events and Development Associate This includes calendar management and travel management, expenses, along with playing a key role in the production of reports, charts, briefings, internal and external correspondence.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain conflict-free electronic calendar for Chief Engagement Officer which may include arranging intricate meetings with Deans, Vice Presidents, Donors Prospects.
- Proactively manage tasks and priorities for the Chief Engagement Officer and the Special Events and Development Associate to properly prepare for upcoming meetings, visits, and events, including making travel arrangements.
- Prepare meeting materials.
- Assist with creating PowerPoints, Excel Charts, and Project Management tools.
- Collaborate with both the Chief Engagement Officer and the Special Events and Development Associate to prepare briefings for events for the President and Vice President.
- Track and submit travel receipts associated with the Executive Card to be submitted in Concur and process personal reimbursements for JHU business expenses.
Correspondence:
- Draft letters to Deans, Vice Presidents, prepare final edits, and mail or distribute to appropriate individuals, both internally and externally.
- Prepare Briefings for the President's Office.
Reporting
- Pulling stewardship reports out of ALADIN/RM (JHAS).
- Learn to master software and applications such as ALADIN/JHAS, Galaxy BI, Excel, and the internet to research and compile data.
Other:
- Function as part as the 555 Penn external engagement strategy team for larger group projects.
- Purchase Office Supplies.
- Other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
- Three years related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Technical qualifications or specialized certifications: Microsoft Office and strong Word and Excel proficiency.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing.
