The Health Policy Research Scholars (HPRS) Program is a leadership program that trains full-time doctoral students from populations underrepresented in specific disciplines and/or marginalized backgrounds as leaders in health policy. These groups include racial and ethnic populations, as well as individuals from socioeconomically disadvantaged and underserved backgrounds, and students with disabilities. The purpose of this program is to support and enhance the doctoral training of students from different disciplines who are committed to advancing the Culture of Health as well as encourage students to participate in interdisciplinary research that impacts health policy. The program provides training in health policy, leadership, communications, and equity, and offers mentorship, coaching, social support and networking opportunities to enhance their success. Scholars remain at their home institutions located across the United States and mainly participate via online education, although the Program offers required and optional in-person sessions throughout the year. The Program Administrator for the HPRS National Program Center (NPC) at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH) in Baltimore, Maryland will provide administrative support in accomplishing the HPRS goals. The position is grant-funded and will be supported through August 31, 2029.
We are seeking a Program Administrator who will report to the Department Administrator and the Deputy Director of HPRS, and work closely with both the Director and Deputy Director.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinates the planning and tech set up of HPRS activities and team meetings and takes notes at the team meetings and other events as necessary.
- Coordinates orders and scheduling spaces/Zoom for HPRS events/functions (virtual and in-person), including managing calendar invitations as needed.
- Coordinates travel in partnership with travel agency.
- Processes reimbursements and invoice payments, including independent contractor agreements.
- Packages and sends outgoing mailings for scholars and partners as needed.
- Drafts and edits communications as needed.
- Handles special projects assigned by the HPRS Director and Deputy Director faculty as necessary.
- Other administrative duties as assigned.
- Responsible for creating a work environment that maintains confidentiality.

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Three years progressively responsible administrative experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in use of software applications (including but not limited to Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, EPR, Publisher, Outlook, Google Drive, Zoom) social media, databases, spreadsheets, and/or word processing required.
- Demonstrated proficiency with office hardware (personal computers, USB drives, printers). Experience with SAP is preferred.
- Excellent ability to manage time and projects with competing priorities.
- High level of interpersonal skills, written and oral communication necessary to effectively interact with colleagues at all operational levels.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with capacity to deliver quality work products within the required deadline.
- Sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population, including students from various racial and ethnic populations, under-resourced communities, and those who are first generation.

Starting Salary Range: $44,850-$61,600-$78,360 Annually (Commensurate with experience)

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
