CENTER FOR LEADERSHIP EDUCATION
FULL-TIME LECTURER IN LEADERSHIP STUDIES
The Johns Hopkins University seeks highly qualified candidates for a full-time teaching position in The Center for Leadership Education (CLE). The CLE offers renewable, one-year contracts that, with appropriate review, become eligible for longer-term contracts and promotion to senior lecturer. All positions in the Center are non-tenured, but recently Johns Hopkins has instituted a new teaching professorship career path for which all full-time lecturerships in the CLE become eligible. The CLE seeks candidates qualified to teach in two or more of the following areas in Leadership Studies:
- Leadership Theory
- Team Leadership
- Leading Change
- For Profit and Not-for-Profit Social Entrepreneurship
- Introduction to Leadership
- Professional Leadership Competencies
- Policy Development
Preference will be given to applicants with the following characteristics: professional experience in leadership roles; teaching and advising undergraduate and graduate students; advising experiential student experiences; developing and teaching new courses that address emerging leadership trends; a knowledge of leadership professional competencies, an understanding and valuing of leadership as non-positional and available to all, and experience in translating leadership theories, competencies, and experience to future professional roles.
The CLE is housed in the Whiting School of Engineering and contains several, interrelated academic programs: the W. P. Carey Program in Entrepreneurship and Management, the Marketing & Communication Program, the Accounting & Financial Management Program, the Business Program, the Professional Communication Program (PCP), The Professional Development Program (PDP), the Leadership Studies Program and the Masters of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM). Faculty in the CLE offer courses in the following areas: accounting and finance, leadership, organizational behavior, operations management, venture development, marketing, law, engineering management, and professional communication.

Qualifications
Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching, preferably with full-time teaching experience at the undergraduate level, or in corporate or graduate venues. A Ph.D, Ed.D or another terminal degree is preferred, but Masters Degree holders (including MBAs) are welcome. Candidates must be engaging, demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, and be willing to work collaboratively with colleagues. Teaching experience as well as professional experience and success in a business, consulting or entrepreneurial environment is required.
