The Center for Social Organization of Schools is seeking a Sr. Program Officer – CSOS who will be responsible for a variety of high-level and multi-dimensional organizational, operational, outreach, dissemination, and strategic planning efforts connected to the Everyone Graduates Center. This individual will demonstrate outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills to interact with all levels of federal, state, district and school leadership, as well as non-profit partners, and foundations to support the implementation of all program initiatives associated with the National Partnership for Student Success Support Hub.
Sr. Program Officer reports to the Director of the Everyone Graduates Center or designee and is responsible for implementing and managing specific programmatic aspects of the National Partnership for Student Success Support Hub as assigned by the Director or designee. Please note: the work location is flexible.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead project development and strategic partnerships with states, districts and principals, non-profit/community partners, and foundations.
- Lead and act as technical expert for states, districts, non-profit partners, and projects assigned.
- Project manage multiple projects, including organizing and managing collaborative efforts involving multiple, non-profit, community organization, and school district/state LEA partners, including developing workplans, managing deliverable schedules, keeping multi-party efforts on schedule, and working collaboratively, troubleshooting, and finding alternative solutions.
- Co-create materials customized for presentations, artifacts, and tools. They include how to guidance, implementation rubrics and self-assessments, written descriptions of examples of effective practices, success stories, visuals, and a variety of documents enhancing communication supporting the implementation of National Partnerships for Student Success programs and projects across states, districts, and non-profit/community partners.
- Design and facilitate virtual and in-person workshops and events tailored for each state, district, non-profit partner including videos, readings, digital presentations, and learning activities.
- Organize learning communities and work groups of state, district, and non-profit/community organization leaders, serve as thought partner to learning community/workgroup members
- Co- design and support program monitoring process for projects as needed.
- Make presentations to state, district, and non-profit leaders.
- Demonstrate technical expertise with two or more of the following: high dose tutoring, student success coaching, post-secondary advising, integrated student supports, school-based mentoring, out of school time, social-emotional development, evidence-based student supports, youth development, science of learning and development, and early warning/on-track systems.
- Keep current on educational issues of importance through literature review, contact with social and professional communities, and participation in relevant conferences.
Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Experience leading cohorts of schools, district leaders or non-profits.
- Experience working with principals and community youth serving organizations.
- Experience designing technical assistance plans for schools and districts.
- Demonstrate technical expertise with two or more of the following: high dose tutoring, student success coaching, post-secondary advising, integrated student supports, school-based mentoring, out of school time, social-emotional development, evidence-based student supports, youth development, science of learning and development, and early warning/on-track systems.
- Extensive communication skills, both orally and written.
- Significant skills in organizing, analyzing, presenting data, reaching conclusions, and developing recommendations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with a wide range of individuals.
- Motivated and results oriented, comfortable in startup environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in a related field.
- Five years related experience.
- Additional experience may substitute required education to the extent permitted by the JHU Equivalency Formula.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
