Position Details:
Loyola University Maryland is seeking an Associate Director for External Conferencing and Events. This position works with the Director of Events Services and the Associate Directors for Logistics and Administrative Operations within the Event Services department.
The Associate Director External Conferencing and Events provides marketing of, administrative management of, and annual coordination of University conferencing (including summer intern housing), retreats, camps, and external events. This position is responsible for directing external marketing and rental of facilities.
Essential Job Duties:
Marketing and Relationship Management
Under general direction from the Director, the position will market, sell, and coordinate event space on behalf of Loyola. Responsible for account management, sales prospecting, and business development. Development of marketing strategy for event spaces, defining objectives, and execution of all communications including positioning, branding, and other related issues for the University conference program.
With input from the Associate Directors of Logistics and Administrative Operations, the position will manage the marketing efforts for University camps, conferencing, summer intern housing, retreat activities, weddings and other external events. Works with campus constituents to further develop the existing summer camp programs and conferencing options for external constituencies. Creates marketing materials. Develops relationships with internal and external campus community to successfully promote the University's facilities and programs.
Event Planning and Communications
Oversees the collective coordination of all event information and resources. Work with the Associate Directors of Logistics and Administrative Operations to synchronize the needs of the group planning the event and staff handling pre- and post events. Coordination with Loyola staff and third-party contractors as needed to ensure the scheduling, setup, support, and billing for all events. This person is the point of contact for all event details.
3 to 5 years of related experience and a bachelor's degree are required. Years of experience may substitute education.
This is a full-time salaried position eligible for the full benefits package. This includes health, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, 403(b) retirement plan with a 9% retirement contribution, paid sick and vacation time, paid holidays, and tuition remission for the employee and their family.
