POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Investment Officer is a key member of the Investment Team working in a small and cohesive team environment. In this role, the Senior Investment Officer will collaborate with the Chief Investment Officer on all aspects of portfolio management, including the sourcing, selection and monitoring of investment managers for the portfolio, performing investment research, conducting portfolio and performance analysis, preparing written investment recommendations for the Board of Directors, and presenting and advocating for those investment recommendations at the Board of Directors meetings. While the portfolio is well diversified across asset classes, an investment advisor leads the manager sourcing and monitoring for the public investments (public equity and hedge funds) so, in this role, private markets are the primary focus. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute to the oversight of the entire investment portfolio. Perform research and analysis to understand industry trends and inform decisions about investment strategy and portfolio construction.
- Be an expert on matters related to investments across private markets (buyout, growth equity, venture, secondaries, and other). Monitor developments in the private equity market, including investment trends and regulatory changes. Attend industry events. Develop and maintain key relationships with the external investment community (e.g., fund managers, peer investors, and key placement agents) to expand knowledge regarding emerging investment opportunities and top performing investment managers and strategies. Conduct research to develop and monitor investment themes. Compile market maps, overviews, and assessments of potential private markets managers. Develop and maintain forward calendar of new private equity funds by existing and targeted managers.
- Source, evaluate and recommend potential private equity investments, examining team, strategy, process, performance, terms, and other areas of consideration. Conduct extensive due diligence, prepare formal written recommendations for the Board of Directors, coordinate legal review and subscription process. Onboard new managers and ensure documentation is maintained in appropriate files and databases.
- Monitor private markets portfolio, including valuations, capital calls, distributions, unfunded commitments, expected capital calls and expected distributions, organizational changes at the fund managers, and significant events related to large portfolio holdings. Recommend actions as appropriate. Obtain uncalled capital contribution and distribution forecasts and potential scenarios from fund managers.
- Manage the private equity co-investment portfolio. Analyze co-investment opportunities and make recommendations to Senior Management.
- Analyze and synthesize data relating to performance (absolute and vis-à-vis benchmarks) and exposures of individual managers, asset classes, and the overall portfolio and articulate key findings and trends. Prepare periodic reporting, portfolio reviews and other ad hoc requests.
- Gather and summarize information as needed to support the annual audit.
- Participate in the planning and preparation of the quarterly Investment Committee meetings. Attend and prepare minutes.
- Evaluate and implement investment tools and resources used in connection with investment sourcing, diligence, monitoring, and portfolio management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA in finance, CFA, and/or CAIA preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of work experience, with at least five years at a sophisticated family office, endowment, foundation, pension fund, or OCIO, analyzing and monitoring private market fund investments.
- Strong knowledge of finance and investment concepts.
- Extensive knowledge of managers and strategies across private market strategies, regions, and sectors.
- Broad network of investment professionals and strong relationship building skills.
- Strong investment acumen.
- Experience working with Environmental, Social and Governance principles preferred.

Office Environment – includes sitting, standing, and using PC.
Hybrid work policy, with core in-office hours Tuesdays through Thursdays 10am-3pm.
Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Overnight travel (domestic and international) (20-30%).
