Towson University is seeking an Associate Director of Marketing, Communications, & Events for University Admissions to support the enrollment goals of University Admissions through marketing, communications, and events. This position will supervise the Assistant Directors of Communication who are responsible for implementing email communication plans for freshmen, transfer, and other special populations for the entire admissions funnel from prospect to enroll. This position will oversee the Assistant Director of Social Media who oversees our admissions social accounts. This position will also oversee the Senior Assistant Director of Events & Visits who manages all campus visit experiences including campus tours and on-campus recruitment events.
This position will provide leadership to the Assistant Vice President for University Admissions (AVP) and will oversee our lead management plan and data analytics to enhance our prospect pipeline for freshmen, transfer, and graduate students. This position is critical to the success of our Admissions CRM. This position will serve as the main liaison to University Marketing and oversee our digital marketing and publication strategy.
Oversee the marketing, communication, and event functions including directly supervising four professional staff members and managing the entire marketing/comms/events team. Responsible for hiring and onboarding staff members, providing continuous training and development and completing annual performance reviews and feedback to assist with performance improvement, professional development, and skills/competency development. Position serves as a member of the AVP’s leadership team and will oversee the strategic lead management plan and data analytics to enhance our prospect pipeline for freshmen, transfer, & graduate students. Works closely with other Associate Directors to ensure success within University Admissions. This position will understand admissions policies and requirements, and develop partnerships with the university and external constituents such as third-party vendors.
Oversees all communication efforts for University Admissions including communication journeys, data campaigns and reporting, CRM technical oversight, website management, social media, mass texting, and more. Position will also serve as the main liaison to University Marketing and oversee our
digital marketing & publication strategy. Oversee all recruitment and yield visits and large-scale events for prospective families, counselors/advisors, and high school/college/community based-organizations. Alongside Senior Assistant Director, oversee the budget, event logistics, communication with campus partners, data analysis & reporting, to ensure successful visit programs & events.
Coordinate with admissions staff on brand presence, presentations, scripts, brochures, and any other marketing-related needs. Admissions staff may be involved in other marketing strategic processes may be required i.e. lead management, communication plans, website editing, etc. Onboarding & continuous training should be provided to admissions staff on the CRM & other marketing tools. Assist with the development of strategic marketing plan and territory management for in-state & out-ofstate markets. Research statistical analysis with multiple data sources to assist with recruitment efforts and yield initiatives. Use data to develop an understanding of the state & national landscape while also implementing comprehensive marketing and communications plan designed to attract and enroll competitive students. Complete general admissions duties including, but not limited to, customer service, applicant processing, holistic review, on-campus events, special projects, campus committees, and any other duties as assigned.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Five years of Marketing, Communications, and/or Event experience
- Knowledge of relational databases and customer relationship management systems
- Supervisory experience
- Customer-service experience

- Experience/Familiarity of College Admissions and/or Higher Education
