Program Coordinator - (220000OS)
The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is seeking a Program Coordinator. This position supports the Center for Clinical Trials and Corporate Contracts in the Office of Research and Development and is involved in the review and editing of clinical trial study documents and departmental communications.

Essential Functions:
  • Review and edit sponsor-provided Informed Consent Documents (ICDs) to ensure the respective financial commitments and risks of the key parties (e.g., Sponsor, UMB, University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC), patient-subjects) are accurately stated in a clear and succinct manner.
  • Coordinate the review and approval process for ICDs associated with UMB clinical research to ensure that goals and objectives of UMB and its collaborators are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications. The review and approval process for ICDs will require direct interaction with UMB clinical research study teams, CCT contract and budget staff members as well as representatives of UMB Counsel and UMMC Counsel.
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities of CCT's Corporate Pre-Award Research Support (C-PARS) the program with inter-related activities of other programs, departments, or staff to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and specifications. The C-PARS program communicates timely pre-award data and other information to research study teams and division/department administrators to assist in management of their respective corporate-funded research portfolios. Communication vehicles may include, but are not limited to, CCT's web page and weekly/monthly reports. The information and reports may include graphs, tables and written summaries.
  • Manage data collection, keep records of the ICD review/approval process and the C-PARS program activities: progress, status, and outcomes, and prepare reports for management.
  • Recruit C-PARS program participants, members and volunteers utilizing most appropriate promotional or marketing methods, such as individual letters, brochures, or presentations.
  • Interact and maintain liaison with students, faculty, staff and outside/community agencies in facilitating the C-PARS program objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with community members and partners in order to grow the programming.
  • Schedule, market, and promote events of the C-PARS program by independently developing promotional marketing materials and event plans.
  • May coordinate the activities of work study students and volunteers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree. Bachelors in English, Communications, or other related field preferred.
Experience: One (1) year administrative. research or program coordination experience.
Internships not for college credit, summer jobs and other relevant experience totaling 1 year may qualify. Part-time experience is pro-rated for hours worked.
Other: Related experience to program may be substituted for education.

Knowledge of position requirements. Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently. Hiring Range: $42,000 - $52,000, commensurate with education and experience.
