We are seeking a Communications Project Manager who is a detail-oriented, organized, creative, and energetic individual who oversees and executes a variety of communications and marketing projects. This role requires a combination of creative process management, needs analysis, scheduling, vendor management, and creative skills with competencies in but not limited to the following:

 

  • Create and execute communications plans for organizational partners
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts and with external vendors and partners to execute communications and marketing projects
  • Produce and generate buy-in for engaging creative concepts for marketing collateral and corporate communications projects
  • Provide copyediting and proofreading on a variety of traditional and digital media assets
  • Represent the Communications and Marketing department at a variety of meetings and events
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of external designers and other members of cross-disciplinary creative teams
  • Maintain Communications, public relations, and editorial calendars
  • Ensure consistency and quality of design and messaging in marketing materials to steward the JHU and CTY brands

NOTE:

This position is hybrid and is required to report to campus a minimum of two days per week, M-F.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g. Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Writing) required
  • Five years related experience required
  • Experience and proven track record of successful creative project planning and execution in corporate communications, agency, and public and media relations
  • Creative team leadership experience
  • Expert ability to set and manage project deadlines for self, team, partners, and vendors
  • Advanced degree may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula*

 

* JHU Equivalency Formula: 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of integrated marketing communications planning
  • Strong understanding of AP style
  • Knowledge of brand management best practices and campaign management  
  • Knowledge of digital and content marketing best practices
  • Knowledge of public and media relations best practices
  • Knowledge of media monitoring tools and best practices
  • Experience managing creative team members and vendors
  • Experience creating and managing corporate communications and editorial calendars
  • Experience leading intranet and website content and development projects
  • Experience managing marketing collateral refresh projects
  • Experience with digital marketing strategies and programs
  • Experience with content marketing program planning and execution 
  • Experience managing printed materials projects
  • Skilled editor and proofreader
  • Proficiency in planning and executing integrated, multi-channel marketing programs
  • Brainstorming and meeting facilitation
  • Competency in project management and collaborative software applications including but not limited to Smartsheet and MS Teams
  • Ability to work collaboratively with CTY staff in and outside the communications and marketing department

 

Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desirable

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit in a normal seated position for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse pad and other office machinery
  • The incumbent will be required to communicate regularly via telephone, online, and face to face with internal and external customers and must be able to exchange accurate and timely information in these settings
  • Position also requires a degree of mobility common to working in an office environment; bending, kneeling or standing during events and presentations may be required

 

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position currently oversees and prioritizes work of the Communications & Marketing Writer
