Assistant Director, Student Placements for Partnership Development and Community Health - (2000014Y)

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), School of Nursing (SON) is currently seeking an Assistant Director, Student Placements for Partnership Development and Community Health in the Office of Student and Academic Services (OSAS). Under limited supervision, this position consults on and manages holistic relationship development between UMSON and clinical sites for all in-person educational experiences across the spectrum of programs. This position specifically is responsible for executing community and public health clinical placements in the entry to practice and RN to BSN programs.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop contacts and relationships with various clinical sites, to cultivate and expand employment opportunities for students clinical placements
  • Assist in the development of marketing initiatives to expand and foster positive relationships with potential employers, increasing awareness about the school's competitive academic program, student body, and recruiting programs.
  • Manages student engagement efforts including tracking career counseling outreach, short- and long-term career opportunities and employment.
  • Plans and implements professional development programming in areas including legal recruiting practices, professionalism, job search techniques, self-presentation and networking skills.
  • Manages counseling, career-information and employer databases for use internally and with students.
  • Plans and implements initiatives to help generate job opportunities, and expand working relationships with clinical sites, increasing the Office's offerings and resources.
  • Conducts and attends recruitment career fairs, interview programs, and conferences that provide forums for companies and legal employers to recruit and hire students for summer and school year internships and jobs, entry level employment for recent graduates.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Social Work or related field, OR Associate's degree in Nursing.


Experience: Three (3) years of experience working in healthcare, or direct community organization.


Certification/Licensure: Active Nursing license is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Adept in strategic planning and managing relationships to achieve organizational goals.
  • Experience in community and public health settings is highly beneficial.
  • Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently.
