General Position Summary The IT Manager is responsible for day to day management of up to six senior, technical resources in the CTY Information Technology department responsible for web, application, and system development. The IT Manager reports to the IT Director and will work closely with CTY IT management on task, project, and portfolio planning and support. The IT Manager will oversee and contribute to technical design, architecture, security, and engineering functions. The IT Manager is responsible for technical task and project management, group supervision, and technical leadership through the full lifecycle of tasks and projects of varying complexity and duration.
The IT manager will manage the CTY IT application development team responsible for the analysis, implementation, and tier 2/3 support of enterprise systems and servers including, but not limited to, the student information system, learning management system, constituent portal, public facing website, intranet site, and numerous integrated systems. The CTY IT team is responsible for the ongoing modernization of CTY IT portfolio including systems, architecture, and security. The team participates in routine technical tasks, incident response, system enhancements, and complex IT projects across the portfolio.
This is a functional management position and the IT Manager is expected to contribute as a senior technical resource addressing complex business and technology problems. This position will be recognized as an expert across the architecture domain including systems, data, security, design, process, and compliance. The IT Manager will ensure that the appropriate technology and methodologies are applied when translating business requirements into technical and functional solutions. This position will be involved in strategic technology planning and will oversee solution architecture across the current and future portfolio.
The IT Manager will develop and maintain constructive and productive relationships with a broad range of CTY leadership, staff, faculty, researchers, instructors, and vendors to serve as a primary contact for tasks and requests. This position should continuously cultivate a thorough understanding of CTY and Johns Hopkins mission, perspective, function, and strategy.

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. Failure to meet this requirement may result in termination of employment.
The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
