The Graphics and Video Coordinator is responsible for supporting integrated marketing initiatives through the design of visual materials that enhance the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing (JHSON). As a member of the Office of Marketing and Communications (MarCom), the Coordinator is a member of both the Digital and Marketing teams and reports to the Assistant Dean of Marketing & Communications.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Graphic/Digital Design (55%)
Collaborates with MarCom team members to produce, re-purpose, and enhance online and print materials, including email campaigns, Johns Hopkins Nursing magazine, video, advertising, and high-priority materials for internal stakeholders.
Maintains the graphic standards of JHSON, including font and color usage and logo guidelines.
Manages SON digital media management (WebDAM), including graphics, photos, templates, and print files of all marketing and branding materials and ensure materials are readily accessible to primary and secondary users.
Serves as the key contact for SON to refine and edit PowerPoint presentations significant to the school’s mission.
Assists in the proofreading of publications and other communications to ensure accuracy as needed.
Video Development (45%)
In partnership with the Social Media & Digital Content Coordinator, creates compelling video wall visuals that compliment and repurpose content in a story format to educate, inform, and entertain audiences.
Enhances and expands the school’s collection of videos in coordination with the Media Relations Coordinator through the development of production schedules and story boards, filming, and editing.
Supports the Digital Team in generating templates and graphics that enhance the school’s social media campaigns and presence and reinforce the school’s visual identity on websites and digital applications.
Bachelor's degree in fine arts, graphic design, or related field.
Two (2) years’ experience and a portfolio.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, graphic design, visual communication, or a related field is required
Two (2) years of related experience including internships, preferably in design, editing, and coordination of collateral materials and video
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and After Effects; Final Cut Pro; and WordPress
Knowledge of basic marketing communications principles in brand management and design
Highly adept and adaptive, with ability to learn and apply new skills quickly, particularly in the area of computer technologies, including use of editing software
Highly organized with ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and work within a cross-functional deadline-driven environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Sound judgment and independent decision making ability.

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception.
