Our client is a leading real estate developer with mixed-use projects and entertainment centers throughout the country.
Seeking a high energy, motivated individual with specific emphasis on all types of restaurant and leading entertainment concepts. You will work collaboratively within the Retail Leasing team and with members of the Development, Asset Management, Legal, Property Management, Marketing, Finance, and Tenant coordination groups as well.
Leadership and Management Responsibilities
This individual will drive the Leasing revenues with the focus on hospitality organizations and help grow and complete compelling new projects. Will report to a Principal of the Company.
Individual must remain current with national trends based on first-hand experience as well as research.
Maintain a professional and positive atmosphere that permits the highest level of departmental performance.
Demonstrates business, financial and administrative acumen at a departmental level.
Builds on the existing confidence, trust and respect of the Leasing Department the Legal, Development, Asset Management, Property Management, Finance, Lease Administration and especially with Marketing.
Coordinates and cooperates closely with the Marketing team.
Builds trust with tenants and brokers.
Conducts performance appraisals, compensation/budget reviews, competency reviews and establishes and monitors department goals and individual performance objectives align with Company and departmental goals.
Supervises and manages the Retail Leasing team’s part of the annual business plan cycle and all reforecasts for operating projects.
The VP of Leasing will also have individual leasing assignments on specific projects. She/he:
Develops an in-depth working knowledge of all properties, while understanding the goals of objectives of each.
Keeps current on all marketing trends and changed in the hospitality industry.
Reviews property reports on a monthly basis. Investigates and resolves all discrepancies.
Develops relationships with outside brokers and tenants.
Responds quickly to leasing inquiries, obtains and forwards information to prospective tenants.
Canvasses new tenants
Maintains current market information related to the competition
Negotiates and drafts letters of intent and other correspondence as required
Assists Legal in lease negotiations
Prepares leasing status reports and lease summaries.
Attends all meetings and events associated with the real estate industry.
Works will other divisions to ensure tenant expectations are exceeded.
Update the company on marketing and technology tools that might improve the company.
Work with property management to track knowledge of all properties and each tenant’s performance and likelihood of renewing/living out the terms of their lease.
Be aggressive in identifying deal opportunities and presenting space to prospective tenants.
Work as a team with other members of the leasing team to provide assistance and back-up for leasing at other properties.
Have 10 years or more of significant leasing experience on the landlord side of the business would be ideal.
Have a bachelor’s degree or better.
Have strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and also as part of a team.
Must be detail oriented.
Must have analytical and problem solving abilities.
Must have strong communication skills.
Must have strong people skills.
Must understand the interplay of demographics and marketing in driving projects.
Understands the financial implications of deals as they relate to the Company and their return expectations.
