A specialized position, responsible for managing all aspects of the Athletics Main Office. Supporting the functional areas of scheduling, game day operations, student employment, budgeting/payroll and ticketing. This role will also have oversight of junior administrative staff and student employees.
Note: Weekend work during Lacrosse season is required.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide phone coverage, public relations and customer service for athletic departments. Acts as the first point of contact.
Provides administrative and operational support as needed to all varsity intercollegiate athletic teams, front office staff members and recreational programs.
Responsible for working with vendors regarding office equipment maintenance and service.
Responsible for deposits of all departmental revenue (FY19 - $1,000,000) into SAP and keep necessary paperwork for filing.
Coordinates department-wide special events which includes scheduling space, finding caterer (and facilitating contract if necessary), along with setup and breakdown of event.
Coordinates and maintains departmental telecommunications and IT needs which includes the refurbishment cycle, and daily issues.
Processes student payroll and acts as a liaison with Office of Student Employment.
Manages, schedules, trains and tracks front office student employees.
Support men’s and women’s lacrosse programs with daily office responsibilities and the planning of special events.
Coordinates all advance department ticket sales, provides daily customer service and assists with game-day sales.
Serves on the game day ticketing staff for all home men’s lacrosse games, as well as all conference and NCAA tournament games. Additionally serves on the operations team for the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Championships (to be held at JHU over Memorial Day weekend in 2020 & 2022).
Handle all mailings for athletic department and BJU office.
High School Diploma/GED required.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
5 years related work experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:
Fluent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Must be able to multi task.
Must possess excellent time management and job prioritization skills.
Must be willing to work nights/weekends as necessary.
JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
