This creative, problem-solving individual will offer visual communication solutions for a range of strategic projects undertaken by the Office of Communications. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: creative design and overall creative concepts; image curation, creation, and selection; and production for the execution of projects. Reporting to the Graphic Design Manager, the Senior Graphic Designer will play a lead design role in cross-functional teams that include writers and editors, videographers, web designers and developers, project managers, and others. The person in this position must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively on creative projects, and have strong design skills and an aesthetic that demonstrates an understanding of current and emerging trends.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Work independently and in cross-functional groups on a variety of strategic communications projects that require creative problem-solving and concepting. This includes taking a lead design role on cross-functional teams, ensuring that all related print and digital design work is of highest quality, consistent, and supports the goals of the individual project.
Partner with editors, writers, web and video professionals, and others to develop holistic communications solutions.
Create a wide range of visual materials. Examples include logos, signage, annual reports, ads, publications, branded collateral, direct mail pieces, event promotions, image creation, and motion graphics.
Direct photo shoots and illustration assignments.
Work on multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines and following schedules.
Contribute to creative concept presentations to leadership and others.
Work to ensure proper balance of form and function in all materials.
Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, graphic design, or related field required.
Four years’ experience required.

Ability to work independently and in groups to offer design solutions to communications problems.
Proficiency on a Mac using Adobe Creative Suite and emerging technologies.
Understanding of production process; capable of taking design from concept to production.

5-10 years of experience in the design field.
