The College of Business and Economics (CBE) at Towson University seeks knowledgeable, competent, caring, driven, team-oriented individuals to foster student success in the role of Professional Development Partners (PDP). PDPs aid in all aspects of students’ academic and career readiness while serving as a partner and liaison to an academic unit within the College and the University.

The College of Business and Economics has the largest undergraduate business program in the University System of Maryland, with over 3500 undergraduate and graduate students. The College is accredited by AACSB for both its business and accounting programs. Organized into six academic departments – Accounting, eBusiness and Technology Management, Economics, Finance, Management and Marketing -- CBE conducts undergraduate business programs with majors/concentrations in an array of business fields and offers a growing number of graduate programs. The CBE plays a prominent role in developing talent and contributing to the workforce development of the region.
Professional Development Partners report to the Director of the CBE’s Student Academic and Career Services unit (SACS), which is responsible for all aspects of student success from initial enrollment in the College to graduation. SACS also cultivates and approves internship opportunities for Business and Accounting majors, all of whom complete an internship as part of a required reflective course. PDPs provide academic and career advice to students, including one-on-one professional development and assistance in creating an individualized plan. PDPs develop and maintain relationships with employers, implement specialized career related workshops and programs, and connect employers to students by becoming industry specialists and ensuring that recruiting opportunities for students are communicated to faculty and staff.
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of relevant experience. Successful candidates will have a deep understanding and appreciation of the role of experiential learning as an important component of academic and career development of students; will demonstrate effective relationship building skills as well as knowledge of career development concepts; and must have the ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple commitments with strong written and verbal communication skills. Having a positive, can-do, focused attitude is critical.
Preferred: Experience recruiting or providing career advice in a higher education setting.
