The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, PC (MAPMG) has an immediate need for a Fellowship Trained, Board Eligible/Certified Glaucoma Surgeon with strong cataract surgical skills to join our growing team of Ophthalmologists. Experience challenging cases, immediate access to primary care and specialist physician consults and freedom from prior authorizations and RVU's. A full-time opportunity is available at the Kaiser Permanente Kensington Medical Center (Maryland), located north of Washington, DC.
Our ophthalmology department is a multi-specialty group in the District of Columbia/Suburban Maryland with current staffing of 15 ophthalmologists who work in 5 medical centers responsible for approximately 358,000 patients enrolled in our area of coverage. In addition, 35 optometrists work collaboratively with us, the department has 2 surgical retina surgeons, one medical retina specialist, 2 cornea surgeons, 2 glaucoma surgeons (recruiting for our third), 1 pediatric/strabismus surgeon and 1 oculo-plastic surgeon. There are 7 general ophthalmologists (interviewing for our 8th ) who practice in a collegial environment within the group. Nighttime, weekend and Holiday on-call duties are shared equally by all surgeons of the group other than the 2 retinal surgeons on a separate call rotation.

BE/BC in Ophthalmology
2-3 Years of experience in Glaucoma preferred after fellowship training
Proficient in cataract and glaucoma surgery
Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the State of MD, DC and VA
Ability to obtain a DEA for all jurisdictions as well as Controlled Substance licenses in MD and DC.
