To develop and implement communications strategies and prepare materials that enhance the visibility and understanding of the CME activities provided by the Office of Continuing Medical Education. He/she will assist in planning and implementing advertising for CME events. The Communications Coordinator will create content for social networking sites and disseminate information about the cme activities on social media platforms. He or she will work to maintain and regularly update the Office's web site.
Specific duties & responsibilities:
Disseminate information about the CME Office on social media platforms
Create content for social networking sites
Develop and implement communications strategies and prepare materials that enhance the visibility of the many CME activities provided by the OCME.
Works to maintain the OCME web site
Measure and track social media traffic and provide data to executive staff of OCME.
Train co-workers to use social media in a cohesive and beneficial way.
Minimum qualifications (mandatory): Requires a minimum of two years of college coursework and some related experience as a social media coordinator, or a track record of success with social media. Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Excellent communication skills.
Multitasking and analytical skills
Special knowledge, skills, and abilities: Knowledge and experience in multiple social media platforms.
Technical qualifications or specialized certifications: Ability to formulate creative content (gifs, image and video)

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
