Recruitment of study participants for the TRIM Study and Diet Gout. Utilizes solid foundation in basic recruitment strategies and experience with recruitment and retention in research studies. Capable of exercising independent judgment while engaging with potential study participants over the phone and in person. Work closely with Study Coordinator and Assistant Director of Clinical Operation at Johns Hopkins ProHealth Research Center located in Woodlawn. Work as part of a productive, collaborative research team. Our team has been dedicated to conducting high-quality research studies for over twenty five years.
Essential Job Functions:
Utilizing a prepared script, conducts interviews by phone or in person with potential study participants
Must be highly organized with meticulous attention to detail
Ability to work in MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Word required as well as the ability to work independently from home or at Woodlawn.
Scope of Responsibility:
Knows the informal policies, procedures and practices necessary to conduct successful recruitment of study participants
Follows routine protocols under some supervision
Maintain and organize study files.
Maintain confidential records of study files.
Effectively prioritize and work on multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines and demonstrate excellent time management skills and efficiency.
Participate in team meetings.
Engages in regular and continuous decision making having an impact on recruitment of study participant
High School Diploma. Some related experience.
Knowledge of working with diverse populations, experience working with the elderly. Some college courses preferred.
Special knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; must have the ability to work well and communicate effectively with others. Strong attention to details and follow-ups; must be able to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks.
Other experiences considered helpful, but not required: community work or volunteering, work or volunteer time in a research setting, retail or other customer service or customer support job, or any telephone-based work.

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
