The Producer/Writer is responsible for creating impactful, creative materials, and consistent video that effectively communicates the Carey Business School brand. The producer conceptualizes and creates a variety of video and writing deliverables to meet the strategic and tactical goals of each design project/marketing communications initiative, with guidance from the Creative Director and sometimes with support from outside vendors. The Producer/Writer will work with Marketing Managers and Creative team to edit and shape text into compelling and creative copy for video and other channels. He/She will conceive, plan, script and produce videos for marketing core school courses and curriculum, sizzle-reels for promoting the overall school brand, and event coverage and promotion videos. The Producer/Writer will be responsible for capturing and editing some small clips in-house to promote on social and various channels, in addition to writing/scripting, scheduling and managing work with outside video vendors. This position must be able to work on several high priority projects concurrently with minimal supervision. Attention to detail is essential.

Specific duties & responsibilities:
Primary focus of this role will be producing, writing and editing video content, including the ability to research independently and write divergent types of copy such as advertising, event support, web and other promotional messaging to be used primarily for video.
Oversee conception, planning and production of video projects with constituents and outside vendors.
First hand production of some in house smaller video mostly for social channels.
Minimum qualifications (mandatory):
Bachelor’s degree in writing, journalism, digital media or related field required.
Two years related experience required. 4-7 years of experience preferred.
Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Experience with editing software needed
DSLR video and mic experience needed
Understanding of marketing strategy required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office necessary
Knowledge of AP Style and ability to learn and uphold school style guide
Must maintain a professional working relationship with faculty, students and staff
Ability to communicate effectively
Self-directed and self-motivated
Ability to meet tight deadlines.
Special knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred
Motion Graphics (Adobe After Effects) a plus
