Under the direction of the Vice President and Chief Development Officer (CDO), be responsible for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of donor stewardship.
Ensure that Sheppard Pratt demonstrates the appreciation and value of continued philanthropic support through appropriate acknowledgment of gifts, donor recognition, the honoring of donor intent, and the effective and efficient use of funds to further the mission of the organization.
The Director of Stewardship is also responsible for writing proposals and preparing timely stewardship reports.
Knowledge of fund raising theories, principles, and concepts, program planning and evaluation, and strong oral and written communication skills - acquired through a Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field of study; superior proof-reading skills; and strong computer skills including in-depth knowledge of Raiser's Edge, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
5+ years of development experience, or experience in a related field involving the management of long-term customer relationships and working with high-level institutional executives and volunteers. Must have experience partnering with senior development staff in developing complex gift proposals with multiple stakeholders.
Work requires automobile travel within the Greater Baltimore area and surrounding areas in proximity to Sheppard Pratt locations.
