Calvert School, an independent lower and middle school, is searching for a full-time Director of the Calvert Fund. Calvert School is located in Tuscany-Canterbury, a residential neighborhood in Baltimore City, just north of Johns Hopkins University and south of Loyola University Maryland, accessible from Charles Street and I-83.
Under the direction of the Director of Development the Director of the Calvert Fund will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Calvert Fund. The Director will develop and implement fundraising solicitation strategies throughout the school year, increase annual giving and participation each year, and reach the established goals set by the School. Working with a talented pool of volunteers, the Director will engage and build relationships with parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends in support of Calvert School. In addition, the Director will oversee the scheduling of the direct mail program, will write letters, recruit and work with volunteers and will coordinate Phonathons and other fund raising events.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree with three to five years of experience in alumni affairs, public relations, fundraising, sales and promotions, or marketing preferred. Must have excellent writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and the ability to work with independence in dealing with the diverse elements of the academic environment. This position requires absolute confidentiality and professionalism. This position requires evening and weekend work with occasional travel. Experience with Raiser’s Edge software a plus.
