STAFF PHARMACIST MT. WASHINGTON PEDIATRIC HOSPITAL BALTIMORE, MD
Hours: The pharmacy is open Monday-Friday 7am-7pm; Weekends 8am-4:30pm.
This position will work 7am to 3:30 pm, 9 am to 5:30 pm, or 10:30 am to 7pm and every 3rd weekend. This position will also rotate on-call with 4 other pharmacists after hours.
Description:As a Comprehensive Pharmacy Staff Pharmacist at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital you will evaluate and interpret orders; compounds; and dispenses medications according to written orders/prescriptions issued by an authorized prescriber. The staff pharmacist will also identify, prevent, assess, and resolve medication-related problems to ensure a safe and optimal patient outcome. Promote, through criteria based protocols, clinically rational drug therapy and sound pharmaceutical care. You will assist in supervising the pharmacy technicians in their daily routines.
Facility: Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital is a 102-bed non-profit children's hospital that treats more than 8,000 patients each year on an inpatient, outpatient and day treatment basis set in the scenic neighborhood of Mt. Washington in Baltimore that provides long-term care for children with complex health problems. MWPH accreditations include Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and The Joint Commission. Management of the pharmacy is outsourced to CPS.
Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy
Maryland Pharmacist license in good standing
1+ years recent hospital pharmacy experience preferred
Meditech Magic Workstation experience desired but willing to train
Proficient computer skills using pharmacy systems and Microsoft Office
Demonstrated customer service skills
Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting
Effective communications skills; verbal and written
