The Designer is responsible for creating impactful, visual communications, and consistent design solutions that effectively communicate the Carey Business School brand. The Designer conceptualizes, designs, and produces a wide variety of materials selecting the appropriate media and style to meet the strategic and tactical goals of each design project/marketing communications initiative. This position will have a focus on digital marketing (emails, web graphics, PDFs to be shared over email) while also creating and overseeing brand identity design, print design production, PowerPoint, and photography. The designer will work with the Marketing Operations Manager and Marketing Managers to input and share creative through electronic project management software. This position must be able to work on several high priority projects concurrently with minimal supervision. Attention to detail is essential.

Specific duties & responsibilities:
Create visual solutions for a variety of communications across all channels including print, email, social, web, plasma screen displays and event promotions, from small scale items to larger scale projects Lead the team email design strategy to stay current with trends and school needs. The designer will evaluate our current process and be empowered to work with the Creative Director to make changes to unify and modernize the designs and process.
Participate in brainstorm solutions for marketing needs for internal clients
Create multiple creative solution options for consideration
Present concepts and solutions to Marketing Managers and clients
Work collaboratively with design team to ensure creativity and continuity across materials
Learn and uphold the brand standards for the school
Other related duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree required; degree in fine arts, graphic or publications design preferred.
Two years’ experience required with additional experience preferred.
Understanding of design theory
Adept in graphic design, layout and typography
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office including Microsoft Powerpoint
Must maintain a professional working relationship with faculty, students and staff
Ability to communicate effectively
Self-directed and self-motivated
Ability to meet tight deadlines.
HTML experience required
Special knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Video production and motion graphics knowledge preferred
Website design experience preferred
DSLR photography experience a plus
Project Management Software (Mavenlink) a plus
