This position will help the Department of Business Services to understand donations and identify opportunities for growth in donor engagement. The ideal candidate will be an analytical thinker, be skilled at matching business problems to possible solutions, get a kick out of technology, and enjoy working with people as much as databases.
Participates in basic development, implementation, maintenance, , support and documentation of various departmental and enterprise-wide application systems. This includes but is not limited to the installation, modification, and testing of new and/or upgraded applications (packages or home grown), operating systems, file structures, hardware, communication devices, and productivity tools. Under guidance assist in gathering and translating business requirements into functional/technical specifications and designs. Assists in maintaining databases and application system code.
May understand project life cycle. Works under supervision/guidance for assigned sections of life cycle. Examples can easily be found in existing code, methods or online. Typically concepts used are simple and standard.

Extract, manipulate, understand, and summarize data to uncover insights and opportunities for donor engagement, and marketing applications.
Conduct analysis of trends in Johns Hopkins University alumni web traffic usage in addition to undergraduate engagement.
Help define data goals for specific Department Offices’ growth efforts.
Influence decision-making and planning for the Johns Hopkins University Alumni Relations team.
Review data gathering policies; work with product and development stakeholders to plan new data gathering features.
Required Education: High School diploma/GED.
Required Experience: Work experience in a professional environment including experience obtained through an internship or fellowship program is required. Additional education may substitute for experience.
Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits or 18 graduate degree credits = 1 year of experience. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college coursework may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
You are an undergraduate or graduate college student studying Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, and Information Technology or a related field.
You are capable (and enjoy) working with large amounts of data.
You are adept at Microsoft Office Products like Excel. Proficient in Tableau version 9.0 or higher, especially enterprise version.
You have experience with SQL.
You have experience with data manipulation using a programming language such as R or SPSS, Python, or SAS.
