POSITION DUTIES: Meets with prospective national and local convention and trade show clients; prepares contracts for sale of space and services in the facility, determining client needs, preparing proposals, assisting in the preparation of special projects and reports, forecasting budgets, conducting site inspections, and interacting with Convention Bureau personnel. Some travel will be required.
Meets with prospective national convention and trade show clients to sell the space and services of the facility.
Conducts site inspections of the facility.
Determines client needs and prepares proposals based on those requirements.
Develops and maintains positive relationship with clients.
Prepares contracts & addendums.
Liaison between client and Account Executive to assure comfortable turnover from the Sales Department to the Services Department.
Prepares reports and projects for the Director of Sales and Marketing.
Assists in the preparation of special projects and special events. Assists with budget forecasting.
Develops and maintains positive relationship with Visit Baltimore’s sales department, as well as Baltimore hotel community sales departments.
Coordinates space requirements with Visit Baltimore for potential clients to maximize use of the facility as well as accommodate client requirements.
Attends industry functions as necessary.
Solicits clients to schedule events in the Baltimore Convention Center.
Completes additional assignments that the Director of Sales & Marketing deems necessary.
Education – A bachelor’s degree in business, public relations, hospitality, marketing, or related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience – Two to three years of sales experience preferably in the convention/hotel industry.
